2025 New Year’s Day Tournament
2025 NEW YEAR’S DAY TOURNAMENT
The 11th annual New Year’s Day tournament will take place on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. This annual event is an eight game, mini marathon. Competitors bowl on a tournament condition moving pairs each game. Total wood at the end of the eight games determines the champion and all final standings.
There are several side pots available during this event. We offer a mini sweeper within the main event. Bowlers use a three-game set in the middle of their tournament for a separate prize list. There are forward and reverse backets. The 16 game optional doubles is also available. Bowlers pair up with any and all of the partners they want to combine their 16-game total for a shot at even more money. The entry fee for the doubles is $25 per bowler ($50 per team).
This year’s event will be contested on Kegel’s Plutonium pattern. Entry fee is $100 up until December 23. After that the entry fee is $130. Save time and money and get entered early.
2024 NEW YEAR’S DAY TOURNAMENT
The 10th annual Kingpin’s Alley New Year’s Day Tournament took place on Monday, January1, 2024. This year’s event featured a field of 91 bowlers. The tournament competitors bowled 8 games, moving pairs after each game.
We had three previous champions in the event this year. Steve Wagoner (2017), Jon Wilbur (2022) and defending champion, Matt Fazzone.
The tournament pattern this year was 2023 PBA Harry Smith. This is a 41’ long pattern with a 2.5:1 ratio and 31ml of oil. The scoring pace was lower than last year, and the bowlers had to work hard to strike. 25 of the bowlers were on the plus for the day.
John (JP) Harrell came away with the championship this year. JP started his day with a 196 game and didn’t shoot under 200 the rest of the day to take home the title by just 32 over Kingston’s John Ferraro. Harrell total 1837 pins for his 8 games while Ferraro had 1805. They were the only bowlers to top 1800.
